Father Paul was born in Sanford, Maine, the oldest of ten children. his father worked at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard and his mother was a house wife but also taught part-time at his Catholic School. He attending a Franciscan high school and college seminary. He then attended a Franciscan novitiate for a year. With taking vows at the end of the novitiate, he left for the next twenty years. Father Paul then double majored with degrees in food Service and Hotel Management. He spent the first ten years as a food supervisor for a Bethlehem Steel Country Club, Maître D´ in Boston, Hotel Manager in Kennebunkpart, Maine, and the next ten years as a Food Service Manager for a retirement residence in Honolulu.
Upon returning to the Franciscan Order, Father Paul went back to the novitiate again. He studied Theology for five years and was an ordained deacon ministering in St. Paul for a year. Father Paul was ordained a priest in May of 2000 – He’s a Millennium Priest! Between then and now: back to St. Paul, the Vocation Office and pastor a the Cross in the Woods Shrine in Indian River, Michigan. Father Paul arrived at Our Lady of the Lake on November 1st, 2008. Father Paul says that he is blessed with a Parish Community and Catholic School. It has been a time of grace for him. He states “with the grace of God and the permission from his superiors, he would like to re-up for another six years” so he can stay in Ashland.
